Long winter

I can tell this winter is getting to be way to long and drawn out.
This morning I got the roaster out and roasted some coffee. Barb was going to town to get stocked up before the next blast of snow hits us. ( tomorrow, 7--12 in.)
I told her to pick up a nice head of cabbage. Well she brought home a nice head that weighed about 2 1/2 # after I got it cleaned up and cored.

Now it's been sliced and is in it's own brine, fermenting and making what I hope turns into a wonderful batch of sauerkraut.
It's been many years since I've made kraut. Sure hope I didn't forget how.

So, you can probably tell I'm suffering from a bad case of cabin fever.

Nothing to do with camping that's for sure.

I know how you feel, however I'm getting ready to take the ole Cruiser to the shop to get the bearings repacked and everything checked over for our trip to the Gulf Shores at the end of March. Plus going to the RV show last weekend was nice.

Yup and apparently the farmers almanac says more snow in the south 10-15 days following a thunderstorm. Well, we had a thunderstorm last night. Ugh. We have our spring sauntering trip planned for the second weekend in March. At least I can occupy myself TV hunting over the next little bit and the rv show is this weekend.

Lloyd,

I'm sure your coffee was much better than what I had in my cup, I'm happy to keep it along with our much better weather. But I would love to trade your snow for some rain down here. What do you think?

Thanks. Lloyd it would be much better if you delivered instead, the nice weather down here would certainly solve your cabin fever. Besides, I don't own the right clothes for your weather. If you google 'short-sleve shirt' you will see what to search for in the back of your closet.

They are calling for thunderstorms and heavy rain here tomorrow with the possibility of tornadoes! Just what we need. With the ground thawing you already can't walk in the yard due to all the mud. You either sink or slip in it now. Not gonna be good for the trees!

I don't know Dayle, Lloyd might need to order a short sleeved shirt on-line as he may it own one up in those temps.
Lloyd here is what one would look like, please also note what shorts are (these are where pants would normally be.)

Looking for a 32" TV also. I thought prices would have gone down around Super Bowl but no way.

RV show in Richmond was so so. Really liked a 5er that had a residential style refrigerator.

Wink

Jean/Larry actually we are truck shopping (tv= tow vehicle). Wish I could get a truck for the price of a big screen tv though.

Um yeah Tommy if only that were my house. Then again, if it were my house I'd get a little sick of the constant stream of people visiting me.

Aileen, knowing how much you like your present diesel, I don't think you would like going back to a gas TV. Even if it is not new I think you'll personally feel better with the diesel. Plus it's ready if you decide to get a 5th wheel someday. Good luck with your search. Will we see a newer TV at he NE Crossroads rally?

Well...I just got home after a 12 hr shift. We have had up to 60 and 70 mph winds when the thunderstorms went thru. Traffic lights are still dancing in the wind. I had a 10 in limb I had to drive around coming home and a bunch of smaller limbs. I saw some trees that appear to be leaning but it is dark and don't think it is over.

We had a ice storm several years ago where we had no power for 10 days. Took me 3 months to get it all cleaned up! Sure don't want to do that again!

not sure when it's gonna happen. The warranty is up on this one in May so we aren't rushed and can wait for the right deal. We are working out how to get a new Chevy Duramax right now because we can get the gm family discount. I do think you are right about me and gas engines which is why we are figuring the diesel out now. if we don't have it by NE rally we will probably have it by Mason Dixon rally. whenever we do it, I will post pics.

Lloyd,

Thanks for posting the pictures. Since I hadn't seen a post from you recently I was beginning to think you were upset with all the teasing. Or maybe it was just a case that your computer froze up, or the screen was displaying nothing but snow, puns intended. Hope the tanker can get to your propane tank when time to fill it.
