Merry christmas & happy new year!!!
I want to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! You all have helped my family and I with our new 5'er as far as things to look for, preventative maintenance and places to go, immensely. I hope you all have good friends and family around you and truly enjoy!
As for my family...we will be moving from Vermont to Alabama next month!! My job, General Dynamics has taken a huge down turn due to the lack of Military spending, so I've accepted an offer at another company. They have offered us THE WORLD....I look forward to hearing from everyone in the Dothan, AL, Florida, GA and Mississippi area. I'm originally from Georgia so it's almost a going home for me but my wife is a born and bread Vermonter. I'm looking forward to her seeing/living the Southern lifestyle! AND...year round CAMPING!!!!!!!

I used to live in Dothan. Great place to live, it has grown tremendously in the last 10 years. Make sure you go camping at the Florida Caverns in Marianna sometime.

Besides going to Florida's white sand beaches, and the fact that there are major cities relatively close by....what is there in short driving distance to Dothan to do? We love to camp, of course, fish, and generally just see and do things interesting. We're VERY fortunate that the company hiring me has offered a full relo package and my wife isn't from the South. I know of things in Georgia, and of course Louisiana but besides Talladega, Montgomery and Birmingham....what's local and interesting?

White oak campground located just north of Dothan right on lake eufaula is a great place to camp, fish and boat.
Another nice place to go is Camp Gulf in Destin where you can park your RV directly on the beach and camp.
