Mother Natures gifts

Not every year are those of us who enjoy some of the things that Mother Nature blesses us with are able to find and harvest them. Could be to hot, or not enough rain, etc.
One of my favorites is blackberries. This year the little patch that grows on the edge of our woods next to the RV shed is producing a crop. I've picked all that has ripened so far. Have 3 package in the freezer and a fresh BB pie partially consumed.
My wife seems to be a master at putting one of those together.

YUM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite - I love everything blackberry - pies, jams, jellies !!!

Brazos River Blackberry Jam* – New Canaan Farms

funny story way back when we were young...
our neighborhood growing up had the 'jungle' (a new block of empty lots with a 30 foot mound in the middle) we thought it was HUGE and used to go pick blackberries there

to this day my sister hates blackberries because she reached in to grab a large one and it was the head of a small snake !!!!

it wrapped around her arm (no bites) and in trying to get it off ended up slinging it at the neighbors girl ! squeals everywhere

Up here in the NW the Blackberries are all over the place and basically a nuisance if they are in your yard. I love the berries but the bushes are a pain. I have been spending the last two weeks cutting them back and pulling them out of the trees. Not fun.

The pies look great.

Must be on the way, it looks like a couple pieces are missing.
I can guarantee you there is nothing low calorie about this pie.

Remember Lloyd, you are invited to the Mason Dixon rally, but only if you bring the pies. By the way, the Mason Dixon rally is open to everyone.

Lloyd, Do you deliver? We have some red and black raspberries going on our property but they never seem to make it into a pie, just on top of a bowl of vanilla ice cream.

Sorry, no delivery. Insurance rates don't allow it.
But you could stop in for a slice and a cup of home roasted coffee.

I think what you are calling black raspberries, is also know as black caps.
They make the VERY best pie.
