Our baby got married May 9 and all of our time and disposable income has gone to the wedding...planning, arrangements, ceremony, reception, showers, post wedding, gift opening and everything else that goes with it. Now that we're down to choosing which pictures to get, we finally have time to go. Still no $$$ but at least we have time.

Our first trip is going to pretty much be a local trip (less than 1 hr from home). This is one we started with my grandson in 2007. The highlight will the ride on N gauge trains. Train enthusiasts have layed out more than 8 miles of N gauge track and 3 times per year they have a local meet where they allow folks to come in and ride their trains. The cars fit kids perfectly while adults straddle the cars. It really is quite entertaining. I'll try to remember the camera this year and see if I can figure out how to post pics. This is a unique activity in this day and age of cookie cutter events and activities. Best part? Free.

Hope to see you out there.

There used to be a location similar to that at Griffith Park near Los Angeles. Not sure if it is still there but Iwent several times as a young boy and have fond memories of riding the trains. Enjoy your trip.
