I didn't find any thing in the forum rules specifically addressing political or religious statements. As long as the discussion is family friendly it looks like anything is fair game. Maybe I missed it. I've noticed since we've gone to the new format that there have been more and more political statements or innuendo. I haven't noticed any overt religious discussion/statements but there has been innuendo.

Outright naming names and political parties as the blame for this sin or that action seems out of place here. I really don't care if we ask someone to pray. Seems clear to me what that means but shouldn't offensive to this group. On the other hand I'm not looking to be converted to the XyZ religion nor am I looking for a religious fight in this forum.

I'm just wondering if this is something we really want? Seems like a great way to divide our happy Crossroads community. In general we're pretty even in our discussions and we've been great about agreeing to disagree. Shoot, I'll have a beer with any one here. But I'm hoping we're able to keep it that way.

I voted for neither. There is a right place for politcal and religious statements and this is not that place. Yes there have been peoples views/opinions and I think that is fine, but a line needs to be drawn when it becomes more than an opinion. As the title says, it is a "family forum". If I want my kids to learn about religion or politics, I want it to be from someone that I feel should be teaching them, not someunknown to me forum member.

Chris, I'll be glad to provide the vodkaÂ*Â*Â*Don, those discussions are what make sitting around the campfire so great ... and ... er ... ... the beer.Â*

No one cares until until things get out of hand. Â*I just hope it never becomes an issue that divides us.
