Punxsutawney Phil

He apparently saw his shadow this morning. Seven more weeks of this crap! It got close to 50 yesterday. Now we have ice from the rain and predicted to snow several inches.

I hear ya. Here in Ohio and hit 40s..now watching another two inches fall. Spring can't come early enough.

You ever tow in the winter?? We have a 300BH and thinking of going south before the thaw in late March.

We have towed from the Cincinnati area to Florida in December a half dozen times over years. Sometimes it is nearly 50 degrees here when we leave or get back and other times it is not! We went this Christmas and on the way back home it was only 18 degrees when we hit Chattanooga. We overnighted there like we usually do on the way home. I had winterized the unit before we left Florida so we had no problems with the water system. The only problem was the brisk walk to the restrooms/shower house! The entire rest of the way back the temperature was anywhere from 18 to 24. Makes unloading painful when it is that cold. I always make sure the tires are at the correct pressure when we depart. It would be easy to forget the pressure drops when it is cold. We always overnight in Chattanooga down and back so I use that opportunity to adjust the pressure if needed because that often seems to be where we hit the big temperature change. I also pay close attention to the weather forecast for our route. We had a situation one time where we left half a day earlier than planned to get ahead of a big snow storm that was going to come through southern KY. Unfortunately it hit a little earlier than we expected and we got caught in the leading edge of it. The snow was coming down really heavy and traffic was bumper to bumper crawling up Jellico mountain in Tennessee. In fact they closed I-75 about 6 cars behind us. Fortunately I had just put new tires on the 5er that summer and new ones on the truck 3 weeks before we left. It is pretty unnerving pulling a camper with 6-8 inches of snow. Once we got over the mountain, it was perfectly clear. That was the only time we ever had snow. You may find you need to be a little more flexible about when you leave or return because of weather but I wouldn't let that stop me.
