I don't want start a mass exodus from the southern states, but I wanted let you know, I think the weather (heat) has broken.
Had the windows open at night for the last three, been open all day today. Right now temp is 72---humidity 46--- dew point----50. Boy you can't ask for it any better.
So, I think/hope you guys further south can look forward to some relief pretty soon.

Nope not down here. The eight day forecast has 103* to 106* here and dry as a bone. I saw a mosquito the other day carrying a canteen.

It's starting here Keith, so I think it will "eventually" get there. The mosquito's up here don't need a canteen. We've had plenty of moisture also. But I sure feel for you boys down there, I don't know how everybody takes it.

Lloyd,

You are right, the cooler weather is already here at well. The overnight low on my thermometer has been lower each of the last two nights. The low was 80.2 Monday morning, 79.4 yesterday and 78.3 today. Well, not quite the improvement you are seeing. And it will still probably be two more months before we can open a window at night.

No rain in sight, we are -18 inches over the last 9 months and Lk Travis is at 50% capacity. When the DW hangs clothes out on the line, the deer gather downwind just for a reminder of what moisture feels like. Today I was pouring a little concrete, after I mixed it, I squeezed the sweat out of my shirt onto the dirt to get rid of the cracks in the ground, otherwise the concrete would have just disappeared.

It was hot in SC, How hot was it? It was so hot, all the corn in the fields popped, the animals thought it was snow and froze to death!

Just a curb for the 4 ft extension that I added. The 'cold snap' is over. Low clouds off the Gulf so the overnight low was 82.2 degrees. No joke, at the beginning of the summer the squirrels were digging pits at the base of the oak trees to get out of the hot winds and lay flat against the cool ground. Now the ground is so hot, one squirrel has learned how to balance itself on the top of a wire fence for maximum ventiation.

We actually had a day where it did not exceed 82 degrees in the Texas Panhandle. Cloud cover and spotted rain showers all day yesterday, although the rain missed our house. I thought I was back in Colorado camping with the cooler weather. Heating back up today though, think we will be close to 100.

I'm hoping that will be the case Frank. Leaves are just starting to turn here. Been picking blackberries this last week. Nothing better then a good blackberry pie or crisp.
