Wife wants to get me a cell phone booster

Was wondering what the latest thoughts are on cell phone boosters. I look into every year or 2 but can't quite commit. Only use would be rustic camping and allow us to get some internet (emails), not streaming etc. and would have to run off of 12V only. We have AT&T. We occasionally get weak cell signals where we camp and can get 1 bar if we travel about a 1/2 mile down the road. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Jim, what does your present phone have for service? If it's 3G I know a booster will help. I've got one. But 3G is about done. A lot of the providers are not going to support it much longer. We have Verizon, and they will be dropping their support on 3G in Dec. of 2022. Others will doing it sooner. If your phone is 4 or 5 G, then I don't know if a booster will help or not. Maybe it won't be needed with the 4 and 5 G.

I've seen guys up in the boonies where I go that had 4G phones and they did just fine with no booster.
I don't know a heck of a lot about cell phones but this what I have gleaned about it so far.

Forget the cell phone false sense of security go with a iridium sat phone

Works every where as long as you can see the sky

Phone Booster?

Hi there,

I have a booster and I'm pretty sure it works (in my work truck)... but I came across this today - though I have not reviewed any of the items, thought it interesting...perhaps...?
