290QB turning on "front" breaker shuts down electric

I just went out to check on the trailer and on shore power. As soon as I plugged it in it shut down the electric system and blew the GFI plug on my house, did the same thing on 2 different house circuits.

Next I shut off all the breakers in the trailer and turned them on one by one. I isolated it to 2 breakers labeled "Front" and "main" on both at the same time. When only one of the 2 is turned on it is fine. so far I have been unable to find a wiring diagram to even know where to start looking. Any help is greatly appreciated. I do have a electric system monitor and it does the same thing with it on or on bypass mode.

everything works fine on battery power

'Front' means all outlets in the forward half of the trailer. Depending on layout that can include the bath GFI and outlets in storage areas, exterior outlets, awning outlet, even a front slideout outlet. It should not include any appliances that require 110 v

Thanks. I did some more testing. with all breakers on but the "front" appliances work inside. 3 outlets work, kitchen above sink, bathroom, outside outlet. all the rest do not work bunk house, slide wall, front bedroom outside fridge.

It seems to be directly related to the front breaker as this blows the GFI on the shore power

What are you plugging the trailer into? 20 amp, 30 amp, or 50 amp?

Look for a pinched wire on the slide, or a electric box filled with water or wire nuts loose.

it is plugged into a 20amp breaker. I have used it for over 2 years with no problems on that outlet at home. It pops as soon as it is powered up with everything shut off and should not be pulling over 20amps. the power monitor when on shows no draw

X2, the slideout wiring is the most likely to become compromised thru repeated use and exposure to the elements. Also, many times it is ez to guess the wiring path, most likely from the breaker panel to the nearest outlet, next nearest and so on. The slideout power will be at the end of the line, nothing returning back to the main trailer. Usually, when a GFI trips rather than a regular breaker tripping, it indicates moisture or corrosion allowing a small current leaking to ground or between wires. It takes very little leakage to create a ground fault (GFI) problem. Moisture with the slideout wiring is highly suspect.

When I read your first post I was wondering if there was to much load on the outlet/breaker. If that isn't the issue then I think the previous posts are correct. Moisture in the exterior electrical boxes have been notorious for causing problems, as have GFI's going bad.

It's also possible that a rodent got into the rig somehow and chewed on the wiring.
