Hey folks....I am on a shake down trip in the new rig.

Dealer installed a 2nd A/C.....seems like its not working as well as our prvious 5er with a 2nd AC installed. Granted this one was second AC ready and was tied into the power.

the issue: 2nd AC isn't tied to a zone...its a seperate unit. It seems to run for about 5-10 min then the compressor kicks off and it runs just fan mode. I have a infrared temp gun with me and when it cycles it blows between 35-45 degrees on the out, when it cycles off, 77 is the out put and the intake is the same. I have pulled the filter off to see if the ducts from the main are blowing cold over the temp wire, I have gone as far as using silver true ac tape on the gaps and there is no inflow from the other vents. Not sure why this thing isn't staying on.

the reason i am posting is that my old Jayco had a second AC there...it would blow cold as long as it was in in the max setting. This one seems to cut off after 5-10 min...

anyone have suggestions?

Thanks from hot site 37 at RV Ranch.

If you wait 5 minutes and set the temp to a lower setting does it come back on? If so so it may be operating correctly but getting asignal from the thermostat saying "cold enough". You may be on to something by checking the sensor wire/thermostat.

I now have the temp sensor sitting out of the unit below the intake and same thing. Called the tech at dealer he suggested to do that, if that fails...it's a bad temp wire.

glad its only 105 out today.

That should make the heat index about 110*.
