Not sure what brand they used back then but others have replaced them with higher quality grills. Maybe someone will post what brand and model they used.

Re missing barbecue what make can I use

Thanks for the response hopefully someone else can recommend a barbecue that will work with the bracket on the bumper so I can get a replacement barbecue and put it to use again.

I personally would remove the bracket. I’ve heard a lot of bad reviews on the BBQ brackets.

Re Barbecue bracket

I’ll keep that in mind but I think it would be a better alternative than on the ground really depends on what I can find that will work with it. If I can’t find a barbecue that will work with the bracket then it’s coming off no point having it on if it’s not serving a purpose. Thanks again

Here is a link to a grill that should fit your mount. https://www.amazon.com/Flame-King-Mo.../dp/B00IZCNOXK

Whatever grill you get be sure that the regulator on the grill can be removed. The rv gas line is low pressure and the grill will not work properly unless the grill regulator is removed. The Weber grill regulator is removable.

Anyone with experience as a gas pipefitter - propane, natural and hi, or low pressure systems would tell you get a professional. Regulators, pipe dope and teflon tape are different for gas vs. other applications. If you don't know what you are doing it could be disastrous. I went through this exercise with my plumber/HVAC tech brother and the cost to do it right went through the roof. We now put my WeberQ on the on the picnic table with a $3 1 lb. bottle and cook all weekend. Never had a Kaboom.

Use quick connect fittings designed for LPG not compressed air, use yellow teflon tape for gas, use black pipe (never galvanized) or copper with flare fittings as piping, spray test all fittings with soapy water mixture & using a bit of common sense there shouldn't be an issue, professional pipe fitter not required.
With a Y fitting specifically designed for the purpose I added a 25' hose directly to the 30 lb bottle on my 5th wheel that was made up by a local LP distributor for about $35 IIRC + the appropriate fittings to connect it to my Weber grills regulator that cost another $20-25 afterwards could sit my grill just about anywhere on my campsite that suited me.
If connecting directly off of the tanks will be high pressure, 250+/- psi, anything after then rv regulator will be low pressures, 25-30 psi.
A word of caution if using the 1 lb bottles, don't spend $ on that joke of a device that claims to fill them from your 20 lb bottle. To be correctly filled you would need to turn the 20 lber upside down to fill the 1 lb with liquid, once the 20 lber is turned upside down the overfill device will close flow & you'll get nothing in the 1lber.
Just to be clear, I spent 30+ years working on high pressure petroleum pipelines one of which was LPG running 2000-3000 psi.

My reply was in regards to someone changing out the regulator for their propane grill from high (bottled gas pressure) to low (after regulator) pressure that didn't seem to know the basics of gas systems. I refill my 1# bottles from OPD tanks with that worthless device you describe. The 20# upside down OPD tank will refill the 1# bottle to 24 oz. on one cycle. I put the 1# in the freezer and the 20# in the sun for about 20 minutes. 18 1# bottles for $16 here in NY. They get almost $4 per here for factory filled 1#.

Then in the words of Elmer Fudd "be bery bery careful" when refilling those bottles, as mentioned there's 250+ psi in that 20 lber that you are using as it never was intended to be used.

I believe that for the gas to remain liquefied it is probably about the same in a 1# bottle or 100# tank - 100 to 200 psi. Size of container is irrelevant to pressure necessary to maintain the proper liquefied state. Temperature is probably a much more relevant factor impacting the pressure in any propane vessel.

I have the original grill and like that I can stand under the awning door of the outside kitchen while using the BBQ. When not in use I have a magmount antenna on it. The gas line is under the kitchen.

Smile Re Barbecue

Thanks for the information I’ll take a look for a barbecue next year that will work on the bracket if I can find one if not I’ll just remove it and use one on a picnic table instead.
