Has any onehad this experience with their A/C. The unit started, blower and compressor and about 10-15 sec the compressor shut down, about 10-15 more the compressor came back on,this went on 4-5 times before I shut it down and started checking for the cause. When I didn't find a real problem,I started it back and all was fine and never happen again. Is this what low voltage does to the compressor?I called the dealer and thats what he said it must have been.Any ideas from anyone? Thanks

Low voltage can do that but it ussually trips the breaker.

You can get a cheap volt meter like the one below and plug it into a socket and watch it when your AC unit is acting up and see it the voltage drops to low. I have a Autoformer in our unit to help keep low and high voltage from taking out our appliances.

I agree with the last poster. My unit would cycle on and off over and over. The dealer never could figure it out. I ended up changing to a digital thermostat and the problem was fixed.

Send a message via Yahoo to Jersey Guy
Hunter, I also have an Auto Former, have you had any problems with the prongs on your plug getting too hot and melting the rubber on the plug? Happened to me on our last trip this past week.

As far as thermostats go, if you think it is a problem, talk to Crossroads about the new digital unit they are putting in the 2010 models. What little I have used it in the new trailer, it seems great. Has up/down buttons to set temp. Fan button has high, medium, low, and auto settings. In auto fan speed is determined by difference in set point versus actual temp. It actually steps the fan speed down as temp gets closer to set point.
