anode Rod

Hi
New owner of a 2019 Sunset trail 253RB. Drained hot water heater getting ready for spring & noticed there was no anode rod? All my previous RVs had one, should there be one? if so what size?

If you have a Suburban water heater, the tank is porcelain-lined steel and requires an anode rod to prevent corrosion of the steel tank. If you have an Atwood water heater, your water heater tank is aluminum anddoes not require one.

I did a little more research and found my water heater to be a Dometic, is also a non anode unit?

Atwood (Dometic) water heaters are made of light-weight aluminum tanks and do not have an anode rod.
