I'm looking for an odometer that will fit in place of the axle cap similar to the ones seen on semi trailers. I would like to be able to measure towed miles on our Seville.

I find hub odometers that look like they might work but has anyone tried this kind of device on their camper?

Thanks in advance.

I should have guessed hubodometer.

Have anyone ever seen one on an RV? I'd be seriously curious whether it's worth it or not.

What is the purpose really? Usually only seen on trailers for hire. With the advent of GPS I don't think they are as popular as they once where. You could just keep a log using the miles from your TV if you are curious how many miles you have covered with your TT.

My truck tracks mileage while connected to each of my specific trailers so I can tell exactly how many miles I have towed when connected to a specific trailer. I use one of the trip meters for the overall mileage on the trip and the trailer is tracked separately when connected in that menu on the display. Nice feature the newer Ford trucks have.I wouldn't think an axle odometer would be worth the cost when you could keep a simple log book if your TV doesn't track it.

I have to agree with both of you. Unfortunately my truck only has 1 odometer but I do keep a log using a little database on my phone. I'd seen those things and wondered if there was some applicability to an RV. The only real reason to have one on an RV is if the owner doesn't want to keep track of anything.

I do see a useful purpose on a rental unit but only there.

Thanks for your input.

I had one on my previous unit. Didn't really feel like keeping a log because I knew I would forget towrite downthe mileage. The reason I had it was to have an idea when to inspect the bearings, brakes ect.
