Bathroom Water Has Oder

Hi All
We are experiencing a foul oder from our hot water in the bath room. Not in the kitchen area. It is the same water supply,and system. Has any one found this in their RVs and how did you solve it?

It most likely the hot water heater.

You'd expect the same smell in the kitchen if it's the water heater?
I like the idea of adding vinegar to the water system and flushing. I do add a few tablespoons of bleach when filling my tanks, to just keep the algae and its smell from building up as we don't drink that water.

Check under your bathroom sink for a vent cap it screws on to the abs. We had a smell when showering and that is what it was. You can get them at home depot, lowes etc

Maybe I'm confused but there shouldn't be any plumbing vents inside the cabin. Everything goes up to the roof.

Anti-Siphon Trap Vent Devices (ASTVD) Another type of vent is the anti-siphon trap vent device. These handy gadgets are used as a secondary vent to aid in draining sink fixtures. Also called “check vents,” ASTVDs allow air into the drainage system, but prohibit air from passing out of the system. ASTVDs are installed in the liquid drain piping system, at or near a P-trap inside a cabinet. Look under the kitchen and lavatory sink area and you should find them. They are mounted at least 6-inches above the P-trap’s horizontal arm. ASTVDs do not allow odors to escape into the living portion of the RV because of an integral atmospheric pressure-controlled, rubberized, one-way valve. In other words, air in, but not out. If they leak air out, you will smell sewer gas.

This could be your problem , the flapper could be staying open, they just unscrew. If there is one,try taking it off and swapping it with the one under the kitchen sink or buy a new one. they are less than $10.
'Lucca' also has this smell in a 2016 Franklin,

I would also suspect that vent under the sink, as sometimes the grey water has a much worse odor than the black. Also if that vent is bad you are getting odor from the sewer back up through your tank & into the room, I usually try to form a p trap (just a droop) in my sewer hose for that reason.

You don't keep your black tank valve or gray tank valve open all the time do you?? Usually not recommended to do that.

Most people that have full hookups leave the grey open and black closed ...then open black when they need to flush black tank.

Mine has 2 greys, 1for kitchen & one for the bath/washing machine, I leave the bath open til ready to drain black & then close for a day. Either way a droop in the hose just helps to keep some of the sewer gases from the tanks.

Thanks to everyone who responded. Sorry for the slow return. It is in the venting as it happens on hot and cold. Cant locate the vent in the bathroom, so I may have to put one in.
