Bayonet Connector Hard to Remove

Hi Folks-

We have a Zinger that we've been enjoying for a few years now. Lately I've been having difficulty releasing the bayonet connector from the sewer hose connected at the camper.
Is there any recommended lubricants that might help (vasoline, silicone)?
Of course I don't want to compromise the sealed connection in the first place, but I'm ripping up gloves getting the thing off!

Thanks,
Sammy

Silicone would work fine. Maybe take some fine grain sand paper and run it around the edge to take off any burrs and smooth it up.
