Just wondering what everyone is using for bike racks on their travel trailers. I was going to purchase one of the units that clamps directly to the rear bumper, but the person assisting me said it would be cheaper to buy a hitch which clamps to my bumper and then I could choose any type of bike rack. My conern with doing that is the amount of vibration. I have a 2006 Zinger ZT30BH. I am a bit worried about all the twisting and straining this might put on the bumer, even though it appears quite solid. I appreiciate any suggestions. I'm assuming most bumpers and frames are similar irregardless of wht the unit is. Thanks.

Pete

I had one on my bumper and took it off because it pounded everything on the back of my camper. MY bikes pounded so hard they broke the holddown straps.

If you have a PU, the Yakima bed heads work well.

If you are considering adding a bike rack to the rear bumper, you may need to check with Crossroads or Lippert if the unit is still under warranty. I think I remember seeing that anything attached to the bumper would void the maunfacturers/framers warranty.

We had a bike carrier that we used when we had a car instead of a truck. I homebrewed a carrier bumper mount. To lessen the possibility of twisting the bumper, I use extra strong bungee cords tied from the top of the carrier down to the struts that hold the bumper to the trailer frame.

Please go to the Sunset Trail section, page 2, "Bumper Hitch" topic and review my post pertaining to my ST30BH. I'm assuming our rigs have the same bumper or close to it . Had a problem and found a solution.
