No debate over chemical or geo method, please. Just one question: what do y'all use in your black tanks? While at CW I saw Dometic's Full Timers black treatment. One dose is supposed to work for a week regardless of the temperature. I am using a bacteria based product now but still rinse flush the black tank three times until the discharge is relatively clear.

I use the geo method. Put about a cup of Calgon powder anda quartercup of dishwasher soap down the toilet with about two to three gallons of water. When the tank needs to be drained, I dump the tank contents and flush until the flush water is mainly clear. When I use the tank flush, I usually letthe tankget about a quarter toa third full before draining it. I usually only have to do it twice or three times. I found that since I started using the geo method with the Calgon and soap, the odors from the tank dumping are not so bad as before.

I use the geo method using one cup of calgon with 2 cups of tide mixed into 2 gallons of water and pour thesolutin into the toilet. Before emtying the pail I close the valve and fill the bowl and let the solution sit in the bowl until the next use ( hopefully at least an hour). This cleans the toilet beautifully.

I used the Geo method with good results ... until the season lease. The problem was the accumulation of toilet paper in the tank. Now I use Calgon powder to soften the water and help it flow better but also use digester for the paper. Since the trailer never moves I can't count on the trip to mix things up and get it moving. Never had an odor problem no matter the trailer nor the method.

I'm no expert but suspect that those that don't fill the tank until full are going to have a problem removing the toilet paper. It takes alot of water velocity to move it since it mounds right under the seat.

Using the black water flush it usually takes one or two times to get rid of the brown color but several more attempts to get all the paper out.

Gosh, what a pleasant topic.

BTW, I'm beginning to have an issue with the valve not sealing after flushing. I can't see any paper attached to the valve or the sides of the toilet. Any suggestions appreciated.
