Black tube vent causing smell in bunk storage area 26bh

Hey all. I have a 2013 Sunset Trail 26BH, and underneath the bunk in the rear, the storage area, there is a black tube that I would guess is the drain from the shower. Off of that there is a vent pipe. From that vent pipe I'm getting a pretty nasty smell. Smells somewhat sulfurish and natural gasish.

Just started this season, but the past week or two when I've noticed it we have hit a couple of relatively high temps in the area.

I'm wondering if it's just the drain pipe for the shower and the smell is from is from the heat and expansion of gases, and maybe a good sanitizing of the grey tank is needed. I haven't done one in a couple of years.

Thanks for the input.

wikdslo,

Funky smells are no good! CR would suggest pouring some bleach down the tube and the shower drain. And if that doesn't fix your smell, I would to a cleaning of your grey tank, specially if you haven't in awhile

Keep us updated on how it goes!

Do you mean a vent pipe that kind of looks like the picture below? If this is where you are getting the smell from I would say that you need to replace this vent. More then likely it is stuck open and allowing the gases to come back into the trailer. This type of vent is to pull air into the drain line to help the water drain and should close to stop gases from coming back out after water has stopped flowing through the pipe. Works like a check valve in a water line.
