Hi
I live in Colorado,
I recently purchased a new Z1ZT2118D Toy hauler and I love it!
As most folks do I will store it outside all year long.
Does anyone recommend covering your trailer and if so what are some good makes?

thanks
Rod

Most will tell you not to put a cover on it and I believe Crossroads does not recommend it unless they have changed that to.

I use to use a cover on a class c I had. To much trouble and still had black streaks. I would invest in a aluminun car shed or building. It will make the life of your unit worth it. JMO

I checked a month or so ago with the dealer from whom we bought our fifth-wheel, and he said neither the dealer nor the manufacturer recommend a cover.

I covered my previous "c" once.. Rupped through some of the decals and rupped through a couple spots of the roof.. I will never again use a cover or recomend them.

What about covering the tires over the winter months?

I cover my tires pretty much anytime they are not rolling down the interstate! UV rays kill tires. A set of tire covers will definitely extend the tire life. I will give you an interesting comparision. My father and I both bought new trucks at basically the same time. (within a few months of each other) They had the exact same tires and the date codes on the sidewalls where within 6 weeks of each other. My truck sat in the garage (and out of the UV rays) when not is use and dad's sat outside. He had to put new tires on at about 40K because the sidewalls were all checked and cracked. When he put the new ones on I looked at mine because I had about the same mileage on mine and my tires looked perfect. Covers will definitely help extend the life.
