Cable at Campgrounds / TV Question?

Hello all! I was recently at a campground with friends. We both have Travel Trailers. His is a KZ Sportsman model. Both used our coax cable connections at the campgroun. They had pretty good cable. I noticed while I was in their camper they appeared to be getting HD quality channels. Mine were decent but they definitely we not HD.

SO I was searching and playing around with things but unable to figure out what the difference could be.

Any advice?

I will more than likely be going the DTV route next year, I currently have DTV at my home. But that is for another discussion.

Thanks!

Tough to tell with not being there,,,but...often times cable will broadcast both HD and SD channels. Did you check to see if they were watching a XX.1 HD channel? I know when I camp at my in-laws the cable will broadcast SD NBC for example on channel 24 but will also broadcast the same programming on channel HD 98.1. It also could be the quality of your TV.

Make sure your booster is turned off and then reprogram you tv for cable. The booster will cause terrible pictures if turned on.

Thanks guys. The booster was off. And we were both using the same channel. it was just a regular number 65 no 65.1, I know what you mean though. I was just wondering if I was missing something with my TV? I do get great HD quality pictures when I use my Over the Air antenna. Normally once you connect to cable at a campground you lose a littlew quiality. Don't get me wrong, my picture was more than watchable, it just was not HD quality like my friends...

We had a similar issue but was between the two TV's in our own unit. The living room got a great picture when connected to cable and the bedroom was good at best. Come to find out it was just a bad connection that was causing the problem.
