My local grocery stores carry it but yes, Amazon has it. I prefer liquid to powder.

I bought a box of Borax for less than $4 IIRC. I could not find the Calgon either. Does the same thing.

No, Borax does not do the same thing. The water soften dissolves the hard matter stuck to the sides of the tanks and helps release it to be flushed out. The Borax helps clean it out but not like the Calgon will.

Hmmm...the borax is also a water softener. States so on the box. States it will work on the Geo website and I think several on here said so too. I just started using it so have no first hand experience to say one way or the other. I do understand how "soft water" works. I have a full house "rain soft" unit that I moved with me. I would never be without my water softener in my house. Will continue to look for Calgon but this box should last a awhile. Without going back to look, anyone else using it?

The main ingredient of Calgon water soften if Zeolite. Zeolite is contained in almost all laundry detergent. Boraxo is also a water softener in which the main ingredient is borax. I'm sure both work well for the geo method but friends have reported better results with Calgon. I guess it's a toss of the coin.

Good deal, but the amazon link is for a pack of two though. I think Walmart sounds like it is the cheapest

But if you take care of your black tank properly, there is no need. Correct?
