When you hook the camper to the water line in a campground or at your house, with the water on, does it also fill the water heater tank and the fresh water tank at the same time. I know not to turn on the water pump, but just curious what fills up using water hook up.
City water hook up usually does not fill the water tank. It only provides water to your sinks, toilet and shower. Some have valves on them that you turn to fill up the fresh water tank. Usually, there is an inlet on the side of the Rv where you fill up the fresh water tank.
Here's an example:

Thanks Mark, that helps out. Yes I do know bout the inlet for fresh water tank filling, but did not know if city water hook up, fills the tank also. Thanks
It also fills the water heater, & keeps it filled, provided it's not bypassed for winterization.
If it's filling the fresh water tank while hooked up then the check valve in the pump is stuck open & starting & stopping the pump a few times should clear it up, but if not you'll have to close the valve at the pump from the tank if equipped.
