We have a 15' A&E Sunchaser awning on our fifth wheel. I had it extended for a few days and went to put it back up the other day and it would not go. It had worked fine up until now. I can't get the silver lever to flip forward to the roll up position. I am pulling on the roller with the rope/leash(?) and it still does not move. Any suggestions. Thanks

Sounds like the release lever has tension on it or it broke. Try pulling on the tether a bit harder while releasing the lever. I have had this issue before but every time, releasing tension has done the trick.

I also had this happen to me once with the old Cruiser. Finally, as I was pulling on the tether with one had, I gave the lever a pretty good hit with a small hammer and it released. Never had any problems with it after that, but don't know why it did that!

I have taken the tube in hand and rolled it to get the tension off and the lever works better.Maybe some WD 40.

I just had this happen this past week. I just did like the others said and rolled the awning a little bit more out, while using a pair of pliers to pull gently down on the lever to release the awning to roll up.

Well it went from bad to worse. The right side tension arm completely broke at the top. I assume there was a small crack in it and my pulling just made it worse until it broke. The good news is I wasable to roll up the awning after it broke. So now my question is where to get a new arm. Looking on line I see some things that I will have to call on Monday. Anyone have to purchase parts for the awnings.Like I said, it is a A&E Domestic Sunchaser. Thanks

I had to replace the slider piece that is at the end of the "secondary rafter". The original was cast, the replacement was machined.

http://www.marksrv.com/sunchaser_parts.htm shows all the parts but I ordered mine thru my local RV service place. One of these days I'll probably be kickin' myself for not ordering a spare.
