This past weekend a sharp knife was dropped in the kitchen sink and it landed point first in the sink. The sink was full of hot soapywater. I guess the hot water in the sink softened the sink enough that the point of the knife went through the sink basin. I now have a knife hole in my kitchen sinkand have to find a way to patch it or replace it.
The bad part is, I can't blame the DW for the hole!!
You could have tried to catch the knife with your hand and put a hole in it instead of the sink. Hole in the sink the DW will ; hole in the hand the DW wll you.

This may not be the best method as it should be performed outside and will cause the plastic tosmoke while repairing the hole....But I have used an old soldering iron to weld plastic. Iused it to repair thelid to our motion sensor trash can. I could not find any glue on the market that could fix the lid since the break was in a stress point when the lidopens. Remelting the plastic made a permanent fix.
Attack it from underneath and move the melted plastic into the hole.
Well I was able to repair the sink with "Loctite Plastix Bonder". It is for bonding or repairing plastic surfaces. Even though itis repaired, we ordered a new sink. DW does not trust it won't leak or crack and said "order a new one".
