I'm looking at the Cruser 34ss and asking for any feedback on this unit or Crossroads Cruiser for that matter.

Thanks

John,
Saw you didn't have any responses...so welcome to the forum. I own a Crossroads TT but yesterday I went to an open house at my dealer's and he showed me the 2013 34SS and I was very impressed with it. They will probably give me the best trade-in on my 28RKX so I will see where it goes from here. They're going to send me pricing and after I do my taxes I'll see what progresses. The nice thing is my dealer ordered this one for himself (he always gets one each year for his own camping needs and uses that to see what and if may go wrong). He has it with 50Amp power, dual A/C's, dual batteries, upgraded bed, and 26 inch TV in the bedroom. The only thing I will add is the never-fail bushings and the JT Strong Arms.

Good luck with your decision and keep us posted on whatever you do.

Jim

Thank you for your response. I came across this unit at a RV show. My wife and I liked the floorplan and interior. I'm not toup to datewith the crossroads name. I also think that this maybe the first year of this 5th wheeler. As for pictures the only one I found is posted on youtube.com

Whatever I think I may go for it, it's just thatsome of the storys you read here kind of scares me.

Thanks again for your help.

Skip,
There are 1,000's upon 1,000's of Crossroads owners out there. Unfortunately those who have absolutely no problems don't post, or seldom post, how good things are. The forum seems to cater to answering questions about "what a model is like"; "I have this problem"; "Can someone help me?", etc, and that is what it should do. But, in your case, if you like the unit, and you like your dealer, then go for it. In my case I am looking at this unit and if I do go for it, I will pick it up and be leaving for a 4,600 mile trek before coming back to anywhere near my dealer. So, in my case, if I have problems, I will have to find a dealer associate or a CW or somewhere I can have the problems fixed. Now, having said all that, I still feel that in 1 year of travel I should be able to find out what if anything is wrong. And when I asked my dealer if he thought I should get an extended warranty he told me not to. Whether or not I will or won't will bea decision my wife and I make based on what problems I have the first year.

I hope this helps in your decision.

Jim

I made a little mistake when I picked my new unit. Make sure the breaks are adjusted correctly be for leaving the lot.!!!!! It's your problem after you leave the lot. Its called maintance on your dime.
Make them take the time so show you how to operate every thing.
Program the entertainment system!
Show how to roll up the power awning with out power.
How to manually put in or out the slide.
Same thing for the landing gear. Its a little more then there's the handle and the hole you put in to.
Turn on the heat
Turn on the AC
Run water to all systems if not to cold.
Tell them when you make the offer what you expect when you pick it up.

We are on our second cruiser. Only had one major problem between them, A bad slide actuator on the kitchen slide of our current unit. I think the major issue the last couple of years has been problems with the new Schwintek slide outs. Hopefully Crossroads has finally figured out how to make them reliable. The other major issue was Crossroads going from a 2 + 5 year warranty to a 1 year warranty. Personally it didn't affect me, but a lot of people interpretted this as a response to quality issues on the 2011 and 2012 models. Don't think Crossroads will ever convince long time owners that this is a better warranty. I am skeptical too, but like I said I don't have to deal with it.

We went with the CF345RF instead of the ss model as we wanted to have the chairs and couch opposite each other and liked the fire place at the back.

Liked the ss model entrances to the bathroom better and the bigger slide for the bedroom/closet area but the living area sold us on the 345.

We have had some problems but nothing major, the trailer tows like no other we have towed and I've towed a bunch of them over the years, many great features and overalll good fit and finish's.

I suspect it was a Monday build or a friday afternoon build, nothing that can't be fixed up, we really like it but it is the first new trailer in 4 we have owned that has had a bunch of little things...

Once the bugs are worked out it will be an awesome trailer, it is a 2013 with the 2 and 5 warranty.

Only thing I wish we would have ordered which we didn't was the insulated windows, missed them when doing the build order.... got everything else.

our bad not the dealers....... good luck, if it is the layout you want go for it as all rv's have their little quirks and require fix's and maintenance.

Our dealer jumps right on the issues as they come up, so the one recommendation would be buy local ! Easy to drop it off a Monday and pick it up on the Thursday after they fix the little stuff during the week that way you lose no time during the week... Oh wait I still work for a living if you are retired it doesn't matter....

Cheers and keep us posted

OffDuty,
Also when I had 500 miles on my unti I took it back to my dealer and he adjusted the brakes for me...no charge...I suggest you do the same, unless you want to do it yourself.

I would like to thank everyone for their feedback. We are not going to be pulling the unit that much being we have a seasonal site on the Jersey Cape. We most likely will travel 300/400 miles per year. We made our choice and are going to see the dealer this weekend.

Again thanks to everyones feedback.
