I just recently noticed that our Climate Control Switch (only the rocker is missing) on the fridge is missing. Called Dometic up for a replacement until I got the price $22 and change, plus $15 shipping and handling. I politely told her to keep it.

Does anybody have any thoughts on what to use as a replacement, or should I just leave it not knowing if it's on or off?

maybe radio shack or sweet talk your parts person at the dealership for one off a dead fridge...

Sounds like the same experiance I had with Dometic parts. I was trying to find a replacement filter cover for one of our AC units and the cost of shipping was higher than the part (which was over priced). I finally found one at an online RV parts wholesaler and saved money.

During my reasearch I found out my fridge has a 3 year part / 2 year labor warranty. My unit is still in the 3 year part warranty, so I sent Dometic an email asking to just send me a switch and I'll install it. They confirmed they willUPS to my home, for my install. I'm still curious how the rocker still just fell out.

Are the wire connectors just hanging there unplugged or is the switch pushed inside? Do you have kids? When I was a kid, I was usually the guilty party but never took the blame. There are some things from back then that wereleft to be a mystery.

The switch is still 100% connected with wires intact. On our last trip out I noticed the rocker was missing, thus began my search in and around the fridge. I found the rocker in the freezer bin, but the guts that switch were missing. I was able to re snap the rocker, but the it's useless without the guts. I still don't know how it fell out as the kids are to young / short.

Nope! All we got was a crummy star..

Whew! The kids are safe! Mine are now of the age that buying a new replacement remote for my Onkyo theater sound system is a necessity. My boy would also think that switch was the turbo boost for the freezer and run it through the paces.

The Magnum PI in me would think that it simply got hung up or hit bysomething being placed into the freeze and it popped off. If that was the case, then the list is taller.

Check Mouser's catalog here and see if you can find a switch that will work. They are mostly standard switches. Just need to know the voltage, connections, and cut out size.

Good Luck
