Easy. Pink stuff is supposed to be biodegradable but I prefer to catch it and reuse in tanks and drains the following winter. Open up faucets, place jugs under TT where drains come out. Open both low point drains till they quit. Connect to water supply and flush lines till clear. Find water heater compartment "inside", should be a compartment with a removable access. Cold water in valve should be turned "inline" with line and bypass valve should be "teed" or across the line. Remove low point drain located "outside" at bottom of water heater and verify water flow. This will flush any pink and any sediments. Replace plug and open pressure relief valve to purge air. Purge hot water lines again for air. Turn gas on and flip water heater switch. Should have hot water in 10 min. Verify no water leaks. I always sanitize my fresh water tank as well. 1/4 cup bleach per gallon and fill with water. Sweep, mop, and wipe down everything and you should be good to go. Have fun!
