I was out of town on business for the week and got a call last night that my ST31BH was one of about 8-10 units that had been broken into at the storage lot. They took my TV, toaster, sheets, towels, knives and some other misc. stuff. They also got a set of spare keys I had hidden.

The worst part is that they did more $$ in damage than they took in property. They probably only got $500-600 in stuff. They ruined my door, door frame, woodwork around the kitchen bench, and ruined the woodwork around the TV. They took time to unscrew the TV, but didn't pull the pin on the rotational stop, so that destroyed the cabinet.

Looks like I'll be cancelling my plans for next weekend as I await a replacement door and frame.

Sorry for your loss Ted. I hate a low life thief more than just about anything.

Thanks for the concern.

They also stole a boat/trailer and an ATV that were parked two spots down. We think that a local business got some video of them leaving so the police probably have a good vehicle description to work from. Hopefully they can turn up the perpetrators.

Sorry that the bums did that to you. And that word was a niceword, since this is a family forum!! Hope they catch them and real soon but that wouldn't help you with the mess they left you.

If the justice system wasn't so lenient it might deter some from being a thief.

X2 on Papa-T.
There is very little respect for others / their property.
With free meals, medicine, libraries, tv, etc. what is the deterent?
ACLU has ruined the penal system.
[ok ..off the sopa box]

That sucks!
What is worse, they will only get $40 to $50 bucks for what they stole because these items are now hot.
You might want to stop in your local pawn shops to see if any of these items turn up. If you do see anything call the police. With 8 to 10 units hit it sounds more like a sting than a junkie looking for crack money.

thankfully, CR has great records. I was able to take the TV serial # and give it to the police immediately.

The police have a database that searches eBay and pawn shops for matching units. The officer was optomistic about the odds of catching these clowns.
