disabling bedroom thermostat sensor

I like the bedroom in my trailer to be chilly at night when I sleep. However, by making the bedroom chilly, the heater overcompensates and makes the rest of the trailer a sauna. I'm guessing the thermostat takes an average from both sensors? What will happen if I unplug the thermostat sensor in the bedroom? Will the thermostat only read the living room sensor and only try to regulate that space? That would be my goal. Then I can keep the bedroom chilly, and the rest of the trailer comfortable.
