Hi everyone,

I just found and bought a drawtite WD adj. hitch and a drawtite Actibvator brake control for $150.00.

It is missing the two parts that attach to the tongue of the trailer for the WD bars. (Im new to this and dont remeber the names of the parts that attach to the trailer tongue where the chains get hooked to)

Where can I get them from and did I get a decent deal on the hitch m,inus the parts I mentioned?

Also does anyone know where I can get,or have the owners/instalation manual for the Drawtite Activator brake controler, and could you copy it for me and email it to me please? I dont have an owners manual and want to hook it up muself to my Lincoln Navigator. The Lincoln did come with a trailer package but I have no clue where the plug in is for the brake controller either, yes I am kind of feeling helpless right now!

All help is very much appreciated!

Thanks

Brian

Thanks

If you have the tow package then you don't need a brake contro;;er.

If you go to the web site below and then go to the "search" feature at the top right corner you can put in the model number of your brake controller you have and it will pull up the info. on it and then it has a PDF file which will give you the owners manual for it. You can then print that off and it should tell you what you need to know.I would think there is a harness the truck should have come with to allow you to plug the controller in at the fuse box. I hope this helps.

Thanks Hunter,

I did as you recommended and I found the info I needed. Even bench tested the brake controller and it works fine.

Had to bend back the area of the hitch where the sway bar ball is (noticed it today when cleaning it up), it was bent up a little bit from either backing too angled or too sharp of a turn, but it is back to straight again so I am pretty happy about that.

Hopefully the TT will be in the drive sometime this coming week and we will be planning our first outting shortly there after. It will be only a close campground for the first few times (we have a state park right up the road about 15-20 minutes away) till we get our feet wet and figure out what we will need and dont need to pack in the thing.

This is very cool, my 6yr old daughter is putting her Barbie in the Barbie car and she is taking her camping all over the house. I ask her where she is going and she says things like, "Barbie is going to go buy a camper", Barbie is going camping by the lake" etc. So she is pretty excited about it. Now if I can get my wife to be that excited about it I think we may have some fun! (She's excited but hesitant as she likes them hotel and condo vacations alot)

Now where can I find them snap up brackets to attach the chain ends to that go onto the trailer tongue for cheap for my Drw Tite hitch?

Well thanks againfor your help guys I do appreciate it very much

Brain, I have bought a few things from these people over the years and been very pleased with their service. Maybe they will have what you are looking for.

Ok thanks Hunter I will cHeck them out.

Also a little update on the htich. I was at the local dealer here and aksed the mechanic about the sway bar bracket on the hitch being bent and told him how I bent it back and he said that was fine. It isnt an area that is reallt that critical is what he said. As long as it is close to straight it will be fine.
