Dual Honda generators
I hooked my Honda 2000eu gens. Together with parallel kit , just to be careful I hooked cord from gens to my surge protector without hooking up to trailer,surge protector said, Open Ground, is this normal or is something really wrong,i had the grounds hooked to the ground screws on gens.havent plugged into trailer yet.

Do I need one of these plugs for each generator ( 2 ) Hondas hooked together with parallel kit?

One plug will do it. When hooked parallel, I use it in the Companion.

Huh since I purchased my progressive protector for the new 5er we haven't dry camped and used the Hondas. Good info that I didn't know. When I had my last new 5er I had a surge protector from camping world but I never used the protector with the generators. Would it be really important to use the progressive with the generators? I guess you could have something wrong with the generators too? Input please.

If you got it---use it. That's what you bought it for. My progressive is hard wired in, and there is never an issue.

Had a old RV cord that I'd save; well because I save everything. Took the plug off and jumped the white and green to make my Ground Neutral Bond. Will put it in my "Things I might need sometime" box on the 5er. Now to get my DW to dry camp again. That's going to be a tougher job. LOL.

That looks like a 20 amp plug to me, not a 30 amp.

Oh, ok. I thought it was for using with a pair of Hondas for 30 amps. My mistake.

It is for dual gens putting out 30 amps. The 120 20 amp neutral and ground are tied in to the 30 amp plug ground. As long as the neutral and ground are tied together some where on either generator it makes it work

Good explanation, but it also works when you are using just one generator.
There seems to be some confusion here.
It might be good/beneficial to reread the article that is provided in the link I posted.
