EAZ-LIFT Weight Distributing Hitch

I hate to beat a dead horse. However, I got the leveling issue resolved. Thank y’all for your advice. Lowered the arms a bit and the truck and trailer work like a charm.

Now, the fun part. I have the EAZ-LIFT Weight Distributing hitch. The rods are notched so you can slide a pin in to hold them in place. I have included a picture. Also when you take out the pin, you should be able to remove the rods. However, that is virtually impossible for me to do. There is a hole at the bottom of the rod (with a screwdriver inserted). I whacked on the screwdriver for a while and the rod moved about 1/8”. Obviously, I’m not going to get far with that strategy.

YES, I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. They say nothing about them being a problem to remove. They were painted inside and out when I put it together, so it is quite snug.

So, I am hoping that someone has seen this before and has a solution. As a Jeep Rock Crawler, the answer is “get a bigger hammer”. I’d like to not have to do that.

I hope you have a better answer.

I have the equilizer that looks the same and the bars come out easily once the pins are taken out . Possibly too much paint inside making it to tight. Spray them with wd 40 or the like and get them out then sand the inside.
