Electric awning

I’ve never owned a TT with an electric awning before. Picked it up from the dealer on Saturday and just noticed this. Not sure if this is normal for an electric awning.
Seems to be functioning normally and rolls in and out with no problems. Just not sure if it’s supposed to roll over the end cap like that.

Not sure on electric awning, I've never owned one either.
I do know on mine (manual) if the awning slides one way or the other in the track on the roller, it will roll up crooked.

I've had two campers with them and never had that happen. Doesn't look normal to me.

Maybe extend and retract a few times and see what happens. Maybe it didn't extend) retract properly or the awning is stretched.

I’ll try opening and closing it a few times. It’s brand new and only been extended once so hopefully it’s not stretched.

Never seen one do that. Something not right. Try above advice. If doesn’t correct itself; take it back and make them fix it.

Must have been just something weird that happened when it rolled up. Went out this morning once the wind died down and it seems to have corrected itself. Rolled it in and out about 10 times and it hasn’t happened again. I’ll let the dealer know what happened so it’s at least on file that it happened a week after getting the trailer.

My manual does this such that the verticals won't lock in unless my SO pushes rearward gently while we roll it up. Somethings racked but I haven't been able to figure it out.

I'm willing to bet that it was a little stiff from being new, and the wind caught it and lifted it on one side.
Be careful with the wind, they can get damaged easily. I will usually either anchor and tie mine down, or roll it up when it's windy.

I checked with the dealer this morning and they said that will happen if the awning is rolled up backwards. I’m not sure how that could happen when the only time it was rolled out was when the dealer showed us how it worked.

Is it even possible to roll it up backwards?

I do not have a power awning but on my uncles if you hold the out button when it gets to the open position it will keep rolling and roll up backwards.

After looking closely at your pictures the first one is indeed rolled up backwards. The fabric should go over the roller like in the second picture.

I bet that’s exactly what they did. They said to run it in and out a few times and it’ll correct itself.

I have a power awning, and I will roll it backwards to clean it.
There is a very effective little trick to cleaning your awning that involves putting your cleaning solution on it, and rolling it up wet, in order to let it soak. It works quite well, and I often roll it up (forwards and then) backwards to do that.
