Electrical box behind Jackknife couch

We have a 2013 CrossRoads - Z-1 ZT301BH and have just taken out our jackknife couch and behind it is an electrical box this a cover on it. What is this? Is it the electrical box for the slideout? Or a possible receptacle?

put a multimeter on it and throw a few breakers to aee what it's suppose to operate or undo a mar connector and see what quits working, maybe that might help..

It is probably is the junction box for the slide. The power comes from the frame thru a cord to the slide then to the junction box. Depending on what is in the slide you may have 12 volt and 110 volt in the same box. If you have a stereo in the slide the wires for it will also be in there.

Similar unit 2012 BH 26
Same box I checked out and it is simply an internal junction box.
No consequence or use, that’s why it’s behind the couch.

Electrical box behind Jackknife couch

On my ZT260BH it’s for both 110 for plug just under dining table and 12v for lights above dining table and above couch.

What do you do when that box starts making a noise? Almost like a fan noise for about 10-15 seconds then stops

A fan noise sounds like your converter.

I feel like an idiot

Ok so the fan noises I was hearing was actually that of a fan. I have a pain of those little go around your neck flexible dual fan things. It looks like a horseshoe with a fan on each end... Anyhow I guess they had fell behind my double recliner loveseat (I removed the awful Jack knife couch years ago) and when I sat down it turned the fans on I just couldn't see them .. I don't know if my husband's ever going to let me Live down this extra embarrassing overly dramatic moment I had. But thanks for responding!!!

Sounds like a good campfire story in future years. Glad you found what it was and thanks for reporting back. Many times we never know the solution/outcome.
