Fabric Accordion Shade

Well we are on our two week trip to Royal Gorge and Rocky Mountain National Park CO. New Duramax truck pulls like a dream. After two hard days driving arrived Royal Gorge. We noticed the middle support stirings in the largest fabric shade have broke. When raised shade won't stay up and drops. Could be a warranty issue but since I'm not home and if I was dealer is 200 mile drive I'd like to attempt fix myself. Has anyone had this happen? Anyone fixed one? Advice how to fix? I know I have to thread string thru each fold of shade. But how do you access bottom of shade to tie off string? Appreciate any advice. CO is beautiful

Maybe this helps. https://www.fixmyblinds.com/v/vspfil...v-4string.html I had one break in our SOB, but paid someone to re-string it.

You can buy a re-string kit from Amazon for about $10. I've repaired several shades, not too difficult but takes some time. Sorry I can't recall the cord diameter that CR uses.

There are Utube videos repairing them, we didn't have much luck doing it, but others claim it's not difficult, ours resulted in arguing & took it to Camping World to have it done.

Cord is available at Michaels or Jo-Anne fabrics.
