Fantastic Fan???

I think that I was hoodwinked when I picked up my 5er at RVW. I paid for the upgrade to a fantastic fan in the bathroom. When they were giving us the tour they quickly went through the bathroom and when they got to the vent I didn't think to challenge them. I guess that I was somewhat overwhelmed at the amount of information being thrown at me in such a short period of time. I was also trying to video tape the whole walk-through and was somewhat distracted. Anyway, the vent I have is a manual crank out arrangement with a sort of clamshell device over it to keep out rain if it is open when raining. I seem to remember that someone said that the fantastic fan has a remote which I don't have. Also there is no literature in the various paperwork left in the camper saying anything about a "fantastic fan." Did I pay for something I didn't get???

Does the motor on the vent just have a push button on/off switch? If so it sounds like you got just a regular bathroom vent and not the FF.

It has more than that. It has a control in each of the four corners. A manual crank to open the vent, an on/off-3 speed control, an in/out control for motor direction, and a temperature control. Also it is individually fused with the fuse mounted in the frame.

That sounds like a FF just not on a wall mounted thermostat.

I agree with Keith, that sounds like a FF, but "manual crank"? That is a change from mine as it is automatic opening.

The regular fan is about 6" in diameter and sits off to one side of the vent opening. A FF is large covering the whole vent opening. FF makes a number of different models with different features, some full auto down to manual.

We have a fantastic fan and it sounds like yours. It does have a manual crank to open it. Like previously said, there a several different models.

Sounds like a FF unit, the fan blade is about 10" in diameter with 3 speeds and a wall mount tstat is standard. The gasket may stick such that the motor can't open the lid, especially if it hasn't been used in awhile. Use the manual crank or cycle the tstat a couple of times to break it loose.

Hey, i did the same think on the very first camper we bought... i got mixed up and we ordered the MaxAir... thinking it was Fantastic... oh well, we got the white round thing, at lease we could open the vent and not worry about the rain..... We did end up liking it that way for the bath area....(toilet) and we put a Fantastic fan in the kitchen. IT is what works for us.
