When I fill my Zinger ZT19RDS with water, does my hot water heater tank fill up too?

the hot water tank usually remains full even when the freshwater tank is empty.

The hot water tank will remain full unless you have drained it. If it is empty it will fill up when you turn your water pump on (assuming the bypass valves are in the correct position).

How do I access the bypass valves?

The bypass valves should be on the inside of the trailer near the hot water tank. On my Zinger fifth wheel they are behind a panel that's held in place with 6 screws.

Make sure the outside plug is in place as well or tight in place, otherwise when you turn on the pump to fill there will be a big puddle outside.....

When I first tried to fill water was coming out of white plastic tube. I found the cap and screwed it back on. Could this be the hot water tank? If so that would be filled first before the regular water tank?

That was probably your low point drain on your plumbing system. Removing two caps should drain your fresh and hot water pipes, the water heater usually has to have a plug removed for it to drain. I always drain my water heater, I don't like the thought of water setting in their for 3 or 4 weeks till I can get out again. If your water heater is empty you will need to start your water pump in order to fill the heater tank which you should do as soon as there is a few gallons in the fresh water tank.Your water heater probably holds 6 gallons of water, so if you fill your tank, remove the hose and then turn your pump on you will lose 6 gallonsof your fresh water right away just to fill the water heater. Does that make sense? Did I explain that in such a convulated way that I made it hard to understand?

the cap you found could have been the fresh water tank drain. When I filled my tank for the first time it came out the bottom-- I found the cap in one of the drawers inside. you can find the water heater on the outside. It has a large square metal door that hinges down. Here you will find the hot water drain. Locate it on the inside after you have found it on the outside. It will probably be in a cabinet or cupboard with a wood panel hiding it. There should be a few screws holding the panel. On this side of the water heater is the by pass you can figure out which position the by pass is in by the way the valves are pointing or by listening to the water filling in the tank. Just make sure there is water in the hot tank before you turn it on.
