Took mine out for more storage, wife loves the storage...Friends we camp with took theirs out because of electrical issues...Smelt like wires burning...I have a small space heater...Takes up less room and has built in safe guards...

I had a factory fireplace burn up about 10 years ago. Don't trust them!

I love them, keep them clean, ensure good air flow and don't expect to heat your whole unit with them and they will work as per their CSA standard

The biggest downfall/fault I see with a fireplace, is you just don't know what gauge wire they ran to that receptacle. So often I've seen where CR has run to lite of a wire to some of the receptacles. When this happens, a 1500 watt heater just doesn't have a chance of performing the way they were designed to. It's also a safety hazard. If I had a rig with one in it, I would definitely pull the receptacle out of the wall and check the wire gauge.
