I have a 2010 Ford with factory installed intergrated brake controller. I have a 2010 cruise 30sk. I will get a wiring fault at least once on a trip. This normally means according to the ford manual that the trailer has no brakes. I can reset it and still have brakes. Any ideas out there?

Might be a loose wire make certain they are all plugged in

Also check your plug and look at the brass pieces inside there that make contact with the trucks female end. I noticed mine were a little flattened, so I did what Im describing below.



The pins insdie the the plugshould be split on the ends. What you do is take a small screwdriver and put the end in between the split end of the pins to open them up a little so they contact real good with the femal plug end. Other types could need to be just spread open a bit to accomplish the same thing to make good contact.

I have an 08 Ford with the integrated controller also pulling 36' Silverado. My last pulling trip of 1400 miles in11/09was almost all in heavy rain. I also got a intermintet wiring fault warning and lost brakes, then near the end of the trip when rain stopped, I had brakes again. When parked for the winter I checked the rv brakes & truck wiring completely and found no place for water to cause a problem, yet that had to be the cause. We do not tow it back and forth anymore so did not do any further checking.

Do you have an inbed and rear socket? If so, I would try whichever one you haven't used, to help isolate your issue. If you only have socket, check the connection and the rear of the socket for possible loose wire.
