Flies

Looking for recommendations on how to keep flies away.
They were terrible yesterday. We've got bites all over our legs and arms.
The citronella candles keep the other pests away, but it does not seem to bother the flies

Flies made us buy a full-size awning with mesh walls that keep flies away. After one trip we had last fall flies just drove us crazy, man! Yet I must say, an awning was a good investment, we totally enjoy it!

We also carry a CLAM shelter when we go to the coast. We bought ours about five years ago. We absolutely love ours. Sets up in seconds and no parts to put together, and is amazing. Can you tell I really love it. LOL Seriously, check this out. Cost around $215 on Amazon but we’ll worth it IMO. The only thing I did different is made me some heavy duty 2’ rebar stakes and welded heavy large washers on one end to make beach sand stakes.

Some swear by the pennies in a bag thing. Put 4 shiny pennies in a zip lock half full of water then clip them to your awning. Have not tried this but some swear by it .

That's the one we've got, and the reason why we bought it is to keep flies away, and to get some extra room.

I like this shelter as well! And if you've had it that long, it really looks like a good investment...
