i was sanitizing my fresh water tank today, and i noticed that the water fill tube was leaking about 1 inch above the water tank. on my trailer the holding tanks are exposed to the elements. the black fabric underbelly is above the tanks. so i can see the leak. my question is has anyone replaced the fill tube? it looks straight foward but the area the the tube goes through the underbelly is covered in this thick black tar material. it looks like the smaller vent tube and water pump pick tube goes through the same area. we are going out for the first time this year tommorrow and back out next thursday, so i might attemp to fix this monday. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Should just be a hose that goes over the nipple make on the tank and the nipple on the filler door or cover.I think the last one I did had hose clamps or zip ties holding it on the barb at each end.I don't remember for sure, but I'm thinking the vent had its own barb to slide over. But like you said, its not a big problem if you don't have the cover over the bottom.Good luck.

There might even be enough hose to trim the end that's leaking and reattach.

i was thinking maybe i can cut the hose at the leak and put a coupler with two hose clamps. to remove the hose i would have to remove all that thick black sealent. it just looks like a headache. thanks guys.
