We have a 2012 Cruiser 27RLX. We are hooked up to city waterat a campground. Our fresh water tank keeps filling from the city water connection somehow. Any suggestions as to why and how to correct? Thanks for your help.

I would suspect that water is backflowing through the water pump. Disconnect from the city water and run water with the pump and maybe that will clear out whatever is keeping the pump check valve from closing.

Thanks for replying. We did try that.
We had it in for service: one item was checking for leaks. At that time, our understanding is that the fresh water tank was filled. After getting it back 3 days ago, we stopped at a campground. Sometime within the first day, we noticed the fresh water tank was full. We completely pumped it out. Today it is full again. There are two valve handles that are blue in color above the gate valve handles for the gray and black water tanks. We don't know what they are for, but are wondering if the positioning of these 2 valve handlesis causing our problem.

Your problem is a bad check valve in water pump. If you can't clear it you will need a new pump. You can also put a shutoff in the fill hose untill pump can be fixed.

Those two blue handles are your low point drain points. There used to drain the hot &cold lines when winterizing

When you say you pumped it out, do you mean you emptied it by removing the drain plug? The 2 blue handled valves are low point drains, they are used to drain water from the lowest points in the plumbing.

Other than pumping out the water, do you know of any other way to check if it is a bad check valve?
Thanks for your help.

We literally pumped out all the water into our gray tank.
Thanks for replying.

If you take the pump head apart maybe the check valve can be cleared. Shurflo.com has a parts list so you can see what it looks like. On my unit the only way for the water to fill the tank is through the pump which means a faulty check valve.

There should be a drain valve for the fresh water tank, leave that open a crack to keep the tank drained. It's leaking slowly if it takes several days to fill up.

Really sounds like the check valve in the water pump. Ours did the same thing about 1 yr ago. Had it replaced under warranty and no problems since. We were living in the RV after our house burned, so couldn't take it to a dealer. Crossroads authorized a mobile tech and quickly reimbursed us for the cost.

Thanks for your help...sorry to hear about your home.
We, too, are under warranty, purchased new in August. Our RV has been in the shop for 3 1/2 months with other "warranty" problems, so we were hoping for an easy solution not requiring it to go back in.
Really appreciate everyone's help.

Not sure about your model but mine has a shutoff valve(s) just prior to the pump which would do the same thing when turned off.
