Fridge in Cruiser 5th Wheel

Curious as to why the refrigerator in my 5th wheel does not run off battery power. It is a full size fridge. What am I missing to have this run while traveling?

Most now are two way and run on 110v or propane. Don't see many that run on 12v battery anymore as well (3 way) that I'm aware. We keep ours on propane while traveling - it automatically switches over when I disconnect from 110v.

You have to turn on the power converter on to run off the battery's. Also make sure the power wire in your seven way plug is hot to supply charging to the battery's while you are going down the road. This will keep the battery's charged up.

What do you have for a 5th wheel? Make, model, year? Pretty hard to answer your question without that info.

That's more better than turning on the converter.

If you have a rv fridge, Dometic or Norcold, it should run off 110 volt shore power or propane & if set to "auto" will switch between the 2 as needed, both of which require 12 volts from batteries to power the control board.
If you have a residential fridge it runs off your battery bank through an inverter, for it to run very long will require more than 1 battery.
As stated, more information on your rv would be of great help to those of us trying to help, add to your signature.
