When we weretraveling toFlorida a couple of weeks agothefuse for the 12v lights in the slide out kept blowing. The first time was when we set up after driving through a bunch of snow. I went out and looked under the slide out and there was snow/ice on the wiring and tension spring that runs to the slide out soI assumed it had gotten wet at a connection and that was causing it to short out (though a good connection should not get wet). The nextmorningthe indicator light in the fuse box was still lit so I did not replace the fuse. I did go out and dried off the wiring before we left but I did not check the fuse light. We traveled that day and when we arrived at the cg that evening the indicator light was no longer "on" so I replaced the fuse and it was fine. That next day after moving to the next cg, the fuse blew again. The indicator light has been on every since and it immediately blows a fuse when replaced. Has anyone experienced this? I have not spent any time yet looking at the problem because it has been too cold to be playing around outside but I am suspicious that it is a short under the slide out. On my unit there is a long spring that is attached to the frame and extends out to the 12v and 110v wiring that supplies the slide out electric for the lights and 110 outlets. This spring keeps the slack in the wiring from dragging on the ground when the slide is retracted. The spring is connected to the wiring with a zip-tie type connection. I suspect that has cut through the wiring and is causing ashort. Only the 12v is causing a problem. The 110 outlets and light are fine. I remember reading about some problems with water getting into a junction box near the slide out and causing the 110v ground fault to trip butthe 110 is fineand the 12v wiring does not run through that box on my unit. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lonnie
