GPS for RV

I am thinking about new GPS to use when towing the fiver, any tips on the best GPS for RV's?

The Good Sam model from CW is far from perfect, but it does coordinate with Good Sam. You can set it to either auto or RV, the latter gives you more warnings, longer lead times, and avoids tight turns. All the campgrounds that you'd find on GS are incorporated, and maps and routes that you create on the GS site can be imported. We have the 5" model, however I now see only the 7" is available. Kind of big for me, but if you have the room on your dash, then a bigger picture is better.

Marty, something that big you should be able to fasten it to the hood right in front of you.

Lloyd, I'm waiting for the "Heads Up Display."

Even though my Silverado has the built-in navigation system, I have a Garmin RV760 LMT. It has steered me away from some roads that I was too heavy for. It is great for towing. I have or had GPS units from Garmin, Tom Tom, Magellan, Lowrance, Panasonic and DeLorme, and the Garmin units are far superior to any of the others I have used. I've only gotten rid of one GPS. It was a Magellan that was so horrible that I gave it away.

We have the Camping World Magellan one for the RV. We like the big screen. Like all GPSs, there are issues, but you just have to be on top of it. It warns us of hazards for our rig.

We have a Ford truck, which has a nice big recessed area on the dash for stuff like this. We plan to add a CB radio to this space next week on our way to Alaska.
