GPS information
I am considering the Garmin 760 RV GPS since my previous GPS are Garmin. I am asking for any feed back regarding your experience with any RV GPS.

I just got one recently. I haven't used it towing, but I've had it in my truck going to work . I really like it and the features my other Garmins don't have. The voice commands work great. The photo realistic exit views are amazing. The 7" screen makes a quick glance very easy. The turn announcements are really good. It will announce the next turn about a mile away. It will tell you which lane to get into. Then it will say something like, "Turn left after the Bojangles."

We use a GPS pulling the trailer but put in for avoidances, no U turns. Before we leave, I always run off a trip ticket from google maps and look at the entrance of the park on google as many of the park campground entrances are not at the address that they give you for the park. This seems to work very well. I have a 3 ring binder that I put my campground reservations in, my trip ticket printouts and also any places to go sightseeing while we are there. Also write in all the addresses that we will need for the GPS so it is easy to set the GPS up for the trip or our side trips and also for multiple campgrounds. I also route the way home and put this in my notebook also.

Have had Garmins since, well .... a LONG time ago...
they just WORK, are very user friendly, and Garmin updates the programs periodically ...
suggest you get one that has LMT at the end for Lifetime Maps and Traffic - if in big cities the traffic can help with routing... not perfect, but better than nothing
On the other forums Garmin seems like the least troublesome brand - do a google search to research ...

Our Garmin has lifetime maps and traffic, we always buy garmin, user friendly and dependable, but always good to also route yourself with a map printout to double check our route.

We usually do the same, but I have found that Google and Yahoo aren't bullet proof either.

I want to thank all of you for taking the time and sharing your experience. My biggest concern is to avoid the 12.5 height limit with my 13 foot Maxxiar vent.

If you go over your route on the good sams website they give warnings for low bridges etc.

Good Sam's web planner is a great tool for planning but for while on the road, if you need to make any changes...well it's not real time...that is when the GPS is a huge asset!!
