Gray 1 and gray 2 question

Hey everyone!

Third time taking our sunset trail 257fk out. Loving it so far! Still very much newbies but learning more every trip out!

We noticed today that our gray tank 2 is almost full. We actually didn’t even notice that we had 2 gray tanks. 🤷🏻*♀️ Does anyone know which tank holds what? From what I found on Google, gray 2 is kitchen sink? If it gets full, will it start to drain into gray 1?

Gray 2 on ours is the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Ours does not drain into Gray 1 ... I wish it did!

I have a Valterra valve on the end of the drain line. If I need extra room/capacity for one of the gray tanks, I can open both valves for the 2 gray tanks and it then becomes one big 80 gal. grey tank. Of course you have to leave the valve for the black tank closed.

It's also a safety thing in case any of the valves happen to be leaking by the gate. It also prevents you getting a hand full when taking the cap off to hook the hose up.

Thank you! We actually have two separate hookups for the black and grey tanks. Have to switch the tube to empty them. I am going to look into this valve.

If you have the same unit as we do, you should see a second pipe. They are about 6 feet apart. The first hose hook up (if you are pulling up to a dump station) should have two valves. One for black water and grey. This grey tank is the bathroom grey water. To empty the second grey (which is the kitchen) just pull up a few feet so that your hose can reach and reconnect.

Gray 1 and gray 2 question

I have two grey tanks on a different brand of camper. Some guys have reconfigured the rear drain line to connect to the main drain line so only one dump connection is needed. On my particular unit the dump valve for the kitchen is ahead of where the new line would connect so you would still need to pull that valve.
I have not made the modifications to mine as I’m not 100% sure the rear line is higher than the main line while hooked up to the truck. With camper level it just is, but we are rarely at a full service site.
