Hail Damage - Page 2

We have a SS26 Reserve and went through a hail storm 2 weeks ago while on a trip to Az. Hailed so bad we had to pull over cause couldn't see the road. Got to Prescott and checked it over and didn't find any damage to the front or sides. Borrowed a ladder to checked roof and found both vent covers, skylight cover, fan cover and antenna had holes in them. Front decal had some damage, but nothing in the fiberglass. Insurance sent a check of 1300 to cover damages. Wonder how much the. insurance co will jack the rates

Insurance totaled it. Hope the get a new trailer picked out next week. Got a couple different models we are looking at. There's two different Z1's that are a possibility plus we are looking at a Keystone and a Zinger Reserze.
The insurance got such a high savage price for this one that keeping is not really an option.

Well it looks like we decided to kick in more money and get a Rezerve RFZ-31BH. Never towed a fifth wheel or goose neck before. Next is going to be a newer truck.

Just rented a Dodge 2500hd with the diesel and got 22 mpg empty on a 600 mile trip.

Good luck with your new Reserve. Stay away from the goose neck. The frames are not made for that type of hitch. Might even void the warranty.

I am sure the damage is visible in person. Wonder what the insurance company will end up selling it for? If one could buy it cheap with a salvage title it would make somebody a good trailer or park it on a deer lease or something.

I was not meaning for that to sound like I was going to convert it to a goose neck. I just have not towed anything with the weight and pivot point above the axle.

I was hoping to buy it back but what I was offered that just did not make since. With the salvage title I could not insure it again. So if any serious damage happened in the future I would be out. I guess the insurance company was able to get a high salvage price from it so this financially is a better solution for them, some how?

The wall is kinda spongy. It is dry on the floor but seems soft in this spot now.

This taped joint was flat and smooth before.
