Has anybody put a hole in the side of

their 5ver. Â*We were turning around in a parking lot and didn't see the corner of an overhang and bam it put 3 inch hole and about 2 feet worth of cracks on both the inside and outside. Â*I know this may sound funny but it was a good thing we had the accident because it caused me to look at our brake controller and notice that every once and awhile it said OH. Â*I looked up what that meant and then realized that our controller was shorting out. Â*I guess angels were watching over us. Â*We still had to go down the mountain to get to Reno. Â*A mobile repair guy came out from Reno and got it to stop by banging on it and then made it short out again by banging on it. We tried to get a new one in Truckee but they didn't have anything compatible with our F550 so we got the old one working and prayed the whole time going down to Reno and got a new one installed in 15 minutes. Interstate 80 is so rough it must have started shorting while we were going down the mountain and we didn't notice because we just didn't hit the overhang very hard. From now on I'm going to carry and extra brake controller. Â*Does anybody know how they fix a hole in the fiberglass. Â*Do they just patch it or do they replace the whole side?

Fiberglass can be patched. You really need to have a good repair shop look at it or you could be very disapointed.

Find a good Boat shop that does fiberglass for a living, Or a Auto body shop that specialize in Corvettes

If your traveling can you patch it and visit the factory? The factory can ddo this type of repair.



If not, a boat shop is the best place to get it repaired. With the amount of fiberglass camper's in service it never ceases to amaze me at how little most RV dealer's know about repairing it.

ouch that would hurt my confidence or pi-- me off a bit, but happy you found your brake controller issue before a major mishap happened.

Sorry to hear about the accident. If your camper has the filon siding be certain you find a shop that knows how to repair it and make it match. Filon siding is not the same as regular fiberglass. You can see the fibers in the filon and if the shop is not experienced in filon repair you will not be happy with the appearance. I would contact Randy at the factory and see if he can recommend someone that can repair it in your area.

If you ever happen to get to Minnesota my dealer, Kroubetz RV, Lake Crystal, MN, also has a body shop. I have seen them perform miracles on some badly wounded RV fiberglass

I put 3" branch through the side of the TT and fixed it myself.

Repair the wall with MarineTex, not glass & resin, or any other plastic filler. We usually have the ability of mixing the marinetex so well, that we don't need to perform any paint blending.

We took the trailer down to ABC Company which is a Crossroads Service Center. Â*They talked as though they were going to replace the entire panel on both the inside and outside but they are waiting for State Farm to send an adjuster and will talk with him.
